Website Statistics
When it comes to the web, you really don't know where you're going until you found out where you've been! All of our web hosting plans include website statistics access. These statistics are pulled directly from the server and give you a good overview of the number of visitors coming to your website, how they arrived and from what page they departed.
Google provides us with a lot of great tools and many of them are free. You can't get a better price than that. Many people think that because it is free, it isn't worth it, but they are wrong. Google wants your site to perform well. Google Analytics is their way of helping you make your site better, resulting in better quality sites in their index. What benefits Google can also benefit you. Can't argue with that.
Of course Google isn't the only analytics software available. There are other commercial and free open source packages. Years ago, we worked with Webtrends which was a very expensive way to monitor your web traffic. We will assist you in finding and implementing your choice of web statistical analysis programs but when Google is giving it away, why not save your money for web marketing?
One final note is about "home page counters". Believe it or not, we still get an occasional request to install one of these obsolete scripts on a website, which we highly discourage. They were never an accurate representation for visitors to your site and you could literally sit and click up your count to as high as you wanted to. Fortunately, those days are gone and we have much better, more accurate ways of measuring actual web visits!
