If you’re doing any type of marketing or e-commerce on the web, then “list building” is an absolute must! This has been a tried and true method of compiling a list of customers since way back in the 1990’s (remember that?) when e-commerce was just coming of age. These days, we have many marketing options such as Google AdWords, Facebook ads, affiliate advertising and the list goes on and on. However, the number one method of acquiring and building your customer base on the web is still the “oldie but goodie” method of allowing your web visitors to opt-in and receive e-mail news from you.
It’s not all that difficult to do but you SHOULD and CAN start soon. MailChimp offers free e-mail services for capturing opt-ins to your e-mail list, up to 2000 subscribers. That would be a great place to get started if you’re just learning the ropes. Ok, so you’ve got people opting in. Cool! The next thing you need to do is send out a periodic e-mail newsletter, to keep in touch with your subscribers. It doesn’t have to be much but just enough info to remind your subscribers of your products or presence on the web. You can create newsletters for free within Mailchimp as well. There are more robust e-mail services available such as Aweber, ConstantContact, etc., which you may choose to consider in the future.
Take action RIGHT NOW and start capturing some leads from your website, for free. All it will take is a little investment of time. If you have a website, isn’t it worth using it to it’s full advantage? A free List Building for novices, eBook is available for download to help get you started. Good luck!
